MEET MIL GAYA RE MANN KA
Hi. My name is Abhimanyu. I am a music composer and a singer. Along with my partner Pragya, I have recently launched our album, Damn I miss you. The songs Zaroori and Kyun Gaya Tu are doing very well across various audio platforms. I was also a participant in the reality show Voice India Season 2 and was in the Top 5 members of Team Shaan. I have worked with many prominent names in the Industry such as Meet Bros, Shaan, Sonu Nigam and morre.
I am going to tell you about an incident
that happened 5 years back, but it is still fresh in my mind like it happened
yesterday. As a composer and a singer I have been active from 2016 and there is
a name very close to my heart.
In 2016-17, I used to work with Meet Bros
as their backing vocalist. I worked with them for a year and I used to travel
with them for several shows all across the world. In fact, in the entire month,
I would spend about 20 days travelling with them.
Out of all the shows that I have done with
them, the time when I travelled to Mauritius was very special. This was my 2nd
international trip with them and we were going to perform at a huge wedding.
I was at the Mumbai airport waiting to
board my flight and I was a little nervous as this was my first show as a solo
backing vocalist with them. What if something went wrong? How was I going to
manage everything single handed?
I was wandering at the airport with these
thoughts in my head, looking for someone to talk to. Suddenly I saw Meet Bros
in the business waiting area.
I was already nervous and in that state of
mind, talking to them was unthinkable.
You know what? I walked straight up to
them and started talking!
“Hello bhayya, kaise hain aap? Mujhe aapke saath kaam
karna bahut achcha lagta hai, aur performances ke liye alag alag jagah jaane
mein bahut maza aata hai… stage par toh hum log kya dhamaal karte hain ….par as
a backing vocalist ye mera solo show hai aapke saath, isliye thoda nervous
hoon…”
What do you think Meet Bros must have done
after listening to this? They had
produced so many hit songs in that period, they were at the top of their game
and here was their team member telling them how skeptical he was about an
upcoming performance.
“Koi baat nahin Abhimanyu yaar, chill! Ye har kisi ke
saath hota hai jab wo stage pe gaana shuru karta hai.You have just started your
career as a singer, tumhaari ye feeling bahut natural hai. Just stay calm and
have fun on the stage. Tum dekhna, tum bahut achcha gaoge aur hum sab milke
stage pe aag laga denge!”
They must have spoken to me for good 10-15
minutes and made sure that I was comfortable.
It was really sweet of them to devote that
much time. I was so assured and happy after this conversation. I have worked
with so many musicians and believe me, not many make that kind of effort to
shower such sweetness on their team members.
I must have done over 300 shows with Meet
Bros. More than our DHAMAKEDAAR
performances on stage, I will remember Meet Bros for this conversation they
gifted me!
