Hello. I am Jai Ahuja. I am a freelancer
and a former marketing professional of a radio station in Mumbai.
Being a part of a radio station in Mumbai,
it was very frequent for us to have celebrity visits, but one particular celebrity visit is very close to my heart!
It must be the beginning of 2015. The
movie PK had just released. There was a promotional event happening at all the
radio stations in Mumbai for the same. The winners were supposed to get PK
merchandise and also get to meet Mr Aamir Khan!
The contest happened, the winners were
chosen, about 5 of them. I took them to Mr Aamir’s office in Bandra.
There were about 35 people over there
including us. All of us were the team members and winners from all the radio
stations in Mumbai.
It was really remarkable how Mr Aamir received everyone! He was really polite, humble and down to earth. He interacted with each and every winner and clicked pictures with them individually! There must be about 30 of them. Just imagine!
That is not the behavior of a typical celebrity I am
familiar with. Most of them get a group picture clicked and I don’t blame them
for it. I understand their apprehension of keeping a distance from their fans.
Also, spending time with 30 fans can definitely be tiring, but Mr Aamir was
different!
After meeting each winner individually, he
sat with all of us and spoke about the contest at length. He asked us about the
response to the contest, the questions asked, the answers received etc.
The interaction he had and the intricacies
that he got into were amazing!
No wonder they call him the Perfectionist!
I became a bigger fan of Mr Aamir Khan after this meeting!
